Nuclear medicine is a field of medicine using radiative elements. Radioisotopes, after binding to pharmaceuticals characterized by particular chemical and biological affinity to particular organs create radiopharmaceuticals. These substances selectively incorporate (usually after intravenous injection) into certain organs or systems.
